beliefs

We believe:

•The Bible is the Word of God and is accurate, authoritative, and appropriate to everyone.

•There is one eternal God who is the Creator of all things.  He exists in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and is absolutely good and gracious toward all mankind. (2 Timothy 3:15-17, 2 Peter 1:21, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, Deuteronomy 6:4, Isaiah 43:10,11, Luke 3:22)

We believe:

•Sin has separated every human being from God and His purpose for our lives.  Repentance of sin and faith in Jesus’ redeeming work enables sinners to be “born again” and to be declared righteous in God’s sight. (Romans 5:12-19, Ephesians 1:7-12)

We believe:

•The Lord Jesus Christ, as both God and man, is the only means of reconciliation to God.  He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross as our substitute, and rose from the dead to manifest His power over sin, the flesh, and the devil and to enable those who believe in Him to participate in this victory.  His redeeming power delivers those who believe from eternal judgment and prepares them for their eternal destiny in the presence of God. (Hebrews 7:26, 1 Peter 2:22, 1 Corinthians 15:3, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Matthew 28:6, Luke 24:39, 1 Corinthians 15:4, Hebrews 1:3

We believe:

• Water Baptism and Holy Communion are the ordinances of the church which are to be celebrated by all believers. Water Baptism, is our declaration to the world of our new life in Christ. Holy Communion is our ongoing memorial of the Cross of Christ and our testimony of his Second Coming. (Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:16, Acts 10:47,48, Romans 6:4, 2 Peter 1:4, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

We believe:

• The Baptism with the Holy Spirit subsequent to conversion is vital for all believers.  The Holy Spirit empowers believers with spiritual gifts and equips them for ministry in the Body of Christ, and to fulfill Jesus’ last command to make disciples of all nations, thus living a life of worship and adoration to God. (Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:16, Romans 6:4, Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 12:1-31, Acts 10:44-4, Acts 15:7-9)

We believe:

•The Church is the Body of Christ, both universal and local, and is comprised of individuals who through faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit.

•Christ Jesus is the Head and Lord of the church.  The mission of the Church is to raise up worshippers among all nations by evangelism of the lost, discipleship of the believer, and the nurturing and care of one another for the glory of God. (Psalm 96:3, Matthew 28:1-20; Colossians 1:18, Ephesians 2:19-22)

We believe:

•God calls and gifts various ministries in the Church, including but not limited to; apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers and deacons.

•The Church has responsibility for recognizing, equipping and commissioning these various ministries for the edification of the Body of Christ. (Ephesians 4:11-13; I Corinthians 12:12-30; Romans 12:3-8)

We believe:

•Healing and prosperity are manifestations of God’s blessing and grace to believers and are given to enable them to serve others more effectively. (Isaiah 53:4,5, Matthew 8:16,17, James 5:14-16, 2 Corinthians 8:1-7, 2 Corinthians 9:6-15)

We believe:

•The second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is expected and is a purifying hope for all believers.( 1 John 3:2-3, 1Thessalonians 4:13-18) This Statement of Faith does not represent the final authoritative work on Bible doctrine or Christian theology.
